Shockwave

Radial shockwave therapy is a non-invasive medical treatment that uses ballistic sound waves to treat chronic musculoskeletal conditions. It stimulates blood flow, breaks down scar tissue, increases collagen production, and encourages tissue healing and pain relief.

Mechanism:

A handheld devices creates a radial pressure wave that spreads out as it hits the tissue. Maximal energy targets the surface, with decreased intensity with depth. This is similar to water making ripples when exposed to high frequency sound.

Key Benefits:

  • Improves tissue repair by enhancing the body’s natural healing response.

  • Reduces pain by interrupting pain signals and decreases trigger points within a muscle.

  • Quick treatment with no down time. Often used as an alternative to surgery or medication.

Common Conditions Treated:

  • Plantar Fasciitis

  • Achilles Tendinitis

  • Tennis elbow (lateral epicondylitis)

  • Shin Splints

  • Hamstring tendinopathy

  • Rotator cuff tendinitis

  • Low back pain

  • Also beneficial before and after surgery to promote healing.
